Blind CV.

Take out the name, contact details, address, age clues and pronouns before a CV goes to a client, so it's read on what the person has done. The CV never leaves your browser.

PDF, Word (.docx) or text. Read in your browser, never uploaded.

The rules

How it works.

It reads the CV in your browser and takes out, by pattern:

  • the name, as you type it or from the first line, and every use of each part of it;
  • email addresses, phone numbers, web and LinkedIn links;
  • addresses: any short line with a UK postcode, and lines that start "Address";
  • lines for date of birth, age, nationality, marital status, gender, religion, dependants and similar;
  • ages written in the text, and titles such as Mr, Mrs and Ms;
  • if you choose, he and she (they, with the verb fixed), and the years on school, college and degree lines.

Every change is marked in the result so you can check it. Patterns miss things: a name spelt differently, a club or school that gives away background, a photo inside a PDF. Read it before you send it.

PDF and Word files are read with two open-source libraries, PDF.js and JSZip, loaded only when you choose a file. Nothing about the CV is sent anywhere, and nothing is kept once you close the page.
