What you earn.

Your billings through your own commission scheme: the threshold, the tiers, and whether each tier pays on its slice or on everything. Plus what you'd lose if a placement falls through, and what the next tier is worth.

Your tiers

The figures filled in are examples, not a typical scheme. Put in your own; leave a tier blank if you don't have it.

The rules

How it works.

Nothing is paid on billings below the threshold. Above it, schemes work one of two ways, and your contract will say which:

  • Its own slice: each tier's rate applies only to billings inside that tier, like income tax bands. Billing £80,000 with 10% from £30,000 and 15% from £60,000 pays 10% of £30,000 plus 15% of £20,000: £6,000.
  • Everything above the threshold: reaching a tier moves all your billings above the threshold to that rate. The same £80,000 pays 15% of £50,000: £7,500. The tool shows both so you can see what the difference is worth.

At risk is the commission you'd lose if the billings still inside a rebate period were credited back, worked out by taking them off your total. Most schemes claw commission back on a rebate; check yours for when it's paid and when it's taken back.

Commission is pay, so tax and NI come off it. This shows it before deductions.
